“No road is long with good company.” – Turkish Proverb

This bunch of people right here…they are my world. They fill my cup. They are everything to me. My why. Why I do this business, why I dream big, why I set high goals and work hard to achieve them. Who are the people in your life that do this for you?

Have you ever had the pleasure of reading “The Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan before?

Basically the premise is following the Pilgrim family on their journey from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. It is an allegory to the journey a Christian takes from their point of salvation al the way through life on earth, to eternity in heaven.

In this book, there is a chapter where Christian Pilgrim comes across a house that belonged to a man and his 4 daughters (fun fact, this is where we got the name for our 1st daughter, Prudence!). The purpose of their home was to be a place for security, rest, reflection, and rejuvenation for travelers for the rest of their hard journey ahead to the Celestial City.

I was reminded of this concept recently as I watched the newly released movie based on the book. It was during this scene that I actually got pretty emotional. Rest, security, reflection, and rejuvenation are SO important in our lives. THIS is what it is like for me when I go and visit my family or spend time with my closest and dearest friends. There is a sense of safety when you are around those that have known you your whole life, raised you, loved you, laughed with you, and watched you grow.  Being with my family gives me that sense of safety and security.
